Fort Cobb, OK – Caddo Kiowa Technology Center is pleased to announce it has received a $35,000 grant from the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation Fund at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. This grant is one of 25 awarded, totaling $427,845 to support local organizations working to enhance quality of life in rural Oklahoma. Funded projects focus on Arts, Culture and History, Economic Development, Health and Safety, and Libraries and Literacy.

The grant will support the Electrical Lineman Training Program, focusing on purchasing climbing gear and adding additional equipment for future classes.  This funding will allow us to lower tuition costs by 35% per student as well as enhance our course curriculum for future classes.

Caddo Kiowa Technology Center is dedicated to providing a comprehensive educational and training system, focusing on creating a high-quality learning environment for students and businesses. CKTC aims to continuously improve its offerings to meet the needs of various populations, including full-time and short-term students, businesses, and industries within the CKTC district. The center's goal is to empower individuals through hands-on learning, preparing them for successful careers and continued education.  The CKTC Electrical Lineman Training Program graduates have been able to locate full time employment in Western Oklahoma on average in less than 30 days from the course completion.

“We are so pleased to receive this grant,” says Jennie Nunn, Superintendent of Caddo Kiowa Technology Center.  “The grant will support our Electrical Lineman Training Program allowing us to eliminate a barrier for potential students in terms of lowering the cost of tuition.  The funding represents an investment in the future of our students and continued growth in our program.  We are grateful to the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation for recognizing the potential of our program.  I would also like to thank our dedicated staff who helped make this possible through their vision, collaboration, and passion for serving students.”
